Our Pets

Pets are a welcome addition to any family. A loyal dog, a comforting cat, or even a calming fish tank can enrich a household and provide a soothing distraction from the daily grind. However, unfortunately, pets can also occasionally become an annoyance to neighbors.

Here are a few tips to help us all be thoughtful of others in our neighborhood.

Anyone may own dogs in our neighborhood but if you own more than two dogs the size of your property must be 12,500ft or more. Make certain your dog/s are on a leash at all times when walking around the neighborhood. When enjoying a stroll passing by other dog owners ask your fellow dog owner for permission to approach the dog/s.

Please always clean up after your dog! Keep your dog from doing his/her business in shared spaces when you leave your home and walk on our sidewalks. Pick up after your dog, put it in a bag, knot the top, and toss it in your own trashcan.

Do not let your dog bark excessively. Fairfax County has updated zoning noise ordinances. Dog parents should be aware that the ordinances include a very stringent section on barking dogs. A dog in a yard barking for five consecutive or non-consecutive minutes within a ten-minute time period is in violation. Fines may be in excess of $250.

Thank you!
